 1) What is the BBC's mission statement?

to "act in the public interest, serving all audiences through the provision of impartial, high-quality and distinctive output and services which inform, educate and entertain.

2) How is the BBC funded?

an annual television licence fee

3) What must the BBC do to meet its public service broadcasting responsibilities? 
  • To provide information (that is supposed to be balanced)
  • To support learning for people of all ages
  • To produce creative output
  • To have diverse content (such as with its representations)
  • To reflect the United Kingdom, its culture and values to the world

4) Who is the regulator for TV and Radio in the UK? 

the regulators are OFCOM ( the office of communications). 

5) How is TV and Radio regulated by OFCOM? 

OFCOM oversees all media channels and produces a code of conduct that all media channels must follow or have their licence to make content removed and/or be fined heavily.

6) How do Doctor Who and His Dark Materials help the BBC to meet the BBC's remit to inform, educate and entertain

If you look at Doctor who, it is mainly sci-fi theme. For the sci-fi fans, it is great that they can watch and learn whilst also enjoying the show and wanting to watch it. It is also the same concept with his dark materials as there is a lot of adventure to it and also has a theme of sci-fi so the learning and watching side of it is quite similar to Doctor who.
