CAMERA MOVEMENT AND EDITING

  1) Pick three  aspects of  camera movement  in the Minority Report clip. Identify the type of camera movement and write about why the director chose to use that camera movement in the scene and what effect it has on the audience. 1 - crane: the director may have chose this  so he can show all around the character / setting without keep on cutting. 2 - pan:the director would have chose this to make sure the character is in the centre of the screen. 3 - tilt - when the man is climbing up the building and hitting the police the camera is moving every time one of them is hit like the camera is getting hit. 2) Pick  two  aspects of  editing  in the Minority Report clip and write about what effect it has on the audience. 1 - pace: when the main character is running the camera is going the same pace from behind so it becomes more intense. 2 - cut: it cuts alot in this short scene the director may have done this to show the different angles of what is happening and also i noticed that in the

STRANGER THINGS TRAILER

costume : the costume of the scientist suggests that he is in a lab and may have been working on something and it had gone wrong and what he created may have attacked him. That scientists facial expressions also helps to communicate this story line as at first he was really worried, scared for his life and then he thought he was safe until the elevator doors shut and the creature attacked him. Lighting:  when the guy scientist is running, the lights are flashing on and off for more suspense. This is suggested because at any point, whatever he is running from may attack him when them lights are going on and off. Also, every time the lights go off and it gets dark, the scientist is getting closer and closer, this suggests that he is running for his life. props : in the scene where they are in the basement playing games, this suggests that it is set in the 80s as they are playing dungeons and dragons with no electronics. Also, they character in the game they were talking about may have a
