Coursework preliminary exercise

 1) Write a 100 word statement of intent explaining what you are going to make for your preliminary exercise.

in my advert I am going to use the innocent smoothie drink. I am going to show all the different fruits from one of the smoothies and show the difference in effort from eating all the fruits compared to just drinking the smoothie. This advert will most likely be shot in the kitchen as i am going to include the character trying to make the smoothie from home to show the difficulty and that buying the drink will be easier as he doesn't have to go through the effort of making it himself.

2) Write a script for your preliminary exercise on your blog. This needs to include stage directions AND dialogue. To see how a TV drama script is presented, and to look at professional examples, check out the BBC Writers' Room and click on Script Library. These will not be advert scripts but the layout will be the same.

The character 1 will be trying to cut the fruit up and fit it in a bottle and wipes his head because it is pretty much impossible. Character 2 will walk in and shake his head and throws him the smoothie. They looks at it and then looks at the  concoction they made then opens the drink and tries it. Their face lit up and there's a voice over with the slogan ' Health, without the hassle'.

3) Casting: Who will be in your preliminary exercise advert?

I'm not sure yet.

4) Plan your locations: Where you will film your preliminary exercise? (You can film off-site if you wish to do this for homework - this is what we would strongly recommend). Important note: You CANNOT take any students out of any other lessons OR disturb any other lessons in the school. If you wish to film in-school then you will need to film with Mr Ray supervising or after school with a Media teacher present. 

definitely in my kitchen and I am not sure about the other locations yet.

5) Write your shot list: every shot you plan to film. This needs to be far MORE shots than you will actually use in the final edited version - plan extra angles, close-ups, long shots and more. You can find an example shot list here. This is for a narrative film but the layout will be the same.

  n Denotation :   The advert is saying that they need toilets and not graves. Conn otation: they need water for toilets which they do not have and because they do not have water they cant drink causing people to die. analysis : This may show that people are dying because of the hygiene and the conditions where they are living which is affecting their health leading to young kids dying at a very young age because of not having water.
